The Ultimate Form of Fan Devotion

OTATTOO ヲタトゥー

OTAKU X TATTOO

Otattoo (ヲタトゥー) is a word I coined that combines “Otaku” and “Tattoos”.  These tattoos feature characters and designs from manga, anime, and games, are aimed at otaku artists!  This is a form of expression that mirrors the passions and interests of contemporary otaku!  This generation’s heroes are not only from the suikouden, but from anime, manga, games, and Vtubers.  These are the modern Japanese myths that offer courage, inspiration, and ideals, making them perfect for tattoo subjects.

ABOUT HORI BENNY

Benny moved to Japan in the summer of 2001 and began his tattoo apprenticeship shortly after in Osaka. In 2014 he departed to found his own studio and brand, Invasion Club near the city’s otaku cultural center, Nipponbashi. His tattooing is a cross-pollination of a variety of diverse subcultures, including anime, manga, fashion, games and toys.

Benny’s “Otattoo” is the result of mixing the colorful and lively world of anime otaku geek culture with human body art – and has since ascended into a worldwide phenomenon.

Invasion Club hosts live events “Otattoo Nights” and “Inkurasai” aimed at blurring the lines between “geek and non-geek”, online and street culture, club and anime music, fantasy and reality.

Benny’s apparel and tattoos are for all members of this unique movement – a new breed of Otaku – who inhabit and express themselves in this ever evolving space.
